Menopause Psychologist Melbourne
Dandelion Lane Psychology Melbourne supports women at all stages of life. Navigating the phases of perimenopause, menopause and post-menopause can be challenging. We are here to help with evidence based psychological therapy for menopause in Richmond, Melbourne and online via telehealth.
Psychological support during perimenopause, menopause and post-menopause
The hormonal changes that occur during perimenopause, menopause and post-menopause can have a significant impact on mental health and disrupt sleep, concentration, memory, thought clarity, anxiety, emotional regulation and mood. Simultaneously occurring factors related to work and career, caregiving responsibilities, relationships and social activities can further exacerbate symptoms and negatively impact mental wellbeing.
Perimenopause is the 3 to 15 year period leading up to the menopause. Menopause is the day which marks the point at which it has been 12 months after your last period. Post-menopause begins the day after menopause and spans the rest of your life. The timing of each of these phases in a woman’s life varies by individual but most often occurs between the ages of 45 and 55 years. Medical conditions, surgical intervention and genetic factors can alter the timing of these phases for some women.
